What a delight to serve as President to the Notable North Texas League. We have an
awesome group of Business and Professional Women who desire to make our community a
better place. During our Strategic Planning Meeting in August we agreed to implement
monthly programs for our Community that would not incur financial costs. The programs
would meet the program mandates from National; i.e., Health, Education, Employment, and
Economic Development. We also agreed to support the vision of our first Lady of the
United States Michelle Obama, in her focus on supporting our military troops and their
families.
The Youth of the North Texas League played an important role in our Strategic Planning
Meeting. They came with their plans that would make their Vision a Reality. The Youth Club
President, Jasmine Bates, knows her role and acts accordingly. The North Texas League
Youth members have proven to be great team players and they understand the power of
joint ventures.
The League Ladies of the North Texas League have exhibited our motto of “Living a
Legacy of Service” through our participation and travel with the association’s International
Division to Africa several times a year. We have also made a commitment to support the
villages in our Mother Land with donations, the purchase of fruit trees and the purchase of
other items that are needed by our brothers and sisters in Africa.
We are women who own businesses and women who are professionals. We understand
the economic challenges that are before us. We, the League Ladies, have questioned
ourselves as an organization that also helps support the businesses and professionals in
our community. We have decided to highlight business owners and professionals in our
community each month, and pray that this will generate business opportunities that will
ease our present economic crunch.
